Joined the 10th Mountain Division while it was engaged in mountain and winter warfare training at Camp Hale, Colorado. Assigned to the 86th Infantry Regiment, Company B and remained with this unit throughout the war. Later stationed at Camp Swift, Texas; Camp Carson, Colorado and in Italy.
